Land of Talk’s Elizabeth Powell returns to the stage at the 2015 Roots North Music Festival

Apple Annie’s was packed from the front to the back, people were spilling out onto the streets of Downtown Orillia from the small cafe; they were all there to witness one thing…the return of Land of Talk‘s Elizabeth (Liz) Powell’s to the live stage.

The intimate gig which took place on Sat April the 25 was part of the inaugural Roots North Music Festival in Orillia, Ontario. Powell was joined by a very tight four piece; you would never have known that they had only practiced together only a handful of times.

In the video below they played Land of Talk’s “Quarry Hymns” which comes from LOT’s sophomore record “Cloak And Cipher”.

Been waiting for EP to come back into the public eye . . . it seems like this is the perfect time for her to get the acclaim she’s always deserved—which is about fifty times more than she ever did at the height of her Land of Talk career. Miss her a LOT.
