With every passing year we suffer the loss of artists and musicians, some are well known and some are only known to you; but unlike other years this year we lost more than our share of iconic musicians, men that blazed trails so deep that they will never be replaced.
The year started out on a real down note with the sudden passing of David Bowie on January the 10th after an 18 month battle with Cancer. The death of Bowie left a huge hole in a lot of people’s hearts and lives, holes that can never be filled again.
On April the 21st the announcement of the death of PRINCE hit me harder than a wrecking ball, this was a guy whom I first saw back in 1984 and then over the next 30 years I would see him live 5 more times. His music changed the way I looked at art and life, he did it all and now that he’s gone a little part of me is also gone.
Below are some of the other musicians we lost this past year.
