A Warm Blanket by Josh Richardson – First in a series of Ambient Works

a-warm-blanket

“A Warm Blanket” is the first in a series of ambient works recently completed by Richardson at his home studio in Owen Sound, Ontario – his first ambient release since 2011’s “The Sleep Cycle” and his first proper release since 2015’s cosmic-Americana album “Black Country” with the band of the same name.  Richardson says this piece is “the audial equivalent to wrapping yourself up in a warm blanket.” The series is intended to work as live performance, art installation, or ‘home installation’ – allowing the listener to create their own ambient environment at home with the audio, and long form videos to follow – following a tangent from early ambient pioneer Eric Satie’s musique d’ameublment, or ‘furniture music.’
