Just in: Mariposa Folk Festival announces a brand new Stage

A strong Mariposa lineup just got even better! We have decided to create a Solo Stage at the Festival, and today we are announcing the seven celebrated singer songwriters that will grace it. The stage will be a in a treed area located in our Peter Seeger Memorial Campground. Where else but Mariposa will you see artists of the following calibre performing in such an intimate setting?
No stranger to Mariposa, renowned singer-songwriter, Mary Gauthier, has garnered many awards. Her songs have been recorded by some of the biggest stars, and she is a regular performer at the Grand Ole Opry. She is both a celebrated solo artist and an integral third of the trio Three Women and the Truth.
Gretchen Peters is one of the most indelible voices in country and roots music, and one the genres’ most enduring songwriters. A multiple Grammy winner and Songwriters Hall of Fame Inductee, she has penned for some of the biggest stars. She is with us as a solo artist and as a member of Three Women and the Truth.
Two-time Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter and activist, Eliza Gilkyson, is one of the most respected musicians in folk and Americana circles. A member of the Austin Music Hall of Fame, she has won countless Folk Alliance and other music awards. As a solo artist and member of Three Women and the Truth, she receives rave reviews.
Renowned as an innovative slide guitarist, the artistic range of Pat Wictor is both wide and impressive. His many influences including jazz, gospel, blues, folk, and rock all shine through in his colourful performances, whether on stage as a captivating solo artist or as part of the trio Brother Sun.
With one of the finest voices in all of folk music, Greg Greenway has forged a career as a solo singer-songwriter but also as a collaborator in the trio Brother Sun. His social conscience shines through his work and Greg brings a sense of humour and humanity to all of his songs.
Juno winning Helen Austin brings two facets of her musical existence to Mariposa this year. She will dazzle as part of Big Little Lions, and she will put on a hugely entertaining solo show, combining a keen sense of humour with superb musical skills.
In music circles, Joe Jencks is recognized as an outstanding vocalist and arranger, a songwriter extraordinaire, and as a gripping musical storyteller. His songs are captivating, and he shines brightly in performance whether alone on the stage or as one third of the trio Brother Sun.
