Yello announce first ever full live shows and first LP in seven years ‘Toy’

This autumn, Yello – one of the most iconic, inspirational bands in the history of electronic music – return with their first new LP in seven years. And, extraordinarily, the band have announced their first ever full live shows to coincide with the album’s release.

Toy – Yello’s thirteenth studio albumis due for release via Universal on 30th September 2016. Like all great Yello records, Toy is playful, super-sharp and ultra-modern. Taking in liquid techno, continental torch songs and myriad gleaming points in between, Toy is unmistakably the sound of Dieter Meier and Boris Blank gleefully working at the top of their game. More details including first single and tracklist will be announced about Toy in the coming weeks.

Following the release of Toy, Yello will play two dates at Kraftwerk Berlin (26th/28th October 2016). These will be the first full live shows played by the band in their 38-year career. Although details are still being fine-tuned, these hugely anticipated performances promise to showcase the past, present and future of Yello music in an audiovisual tour de force set against backdrops inspired by many of the band’s award-winning videos. At the shows, Dieter and Boris will be joined on stage by guest singers Malia and Fifi Rong as well as many of the live musicians who helped to record Toy.

Boris Blank: “At the center of our show are more than twenty Yello songs that I have ‘reloaded’ for live performance. Of course, we will play the Yello hits, but also tracks from Toy. To the future through the past – the world of Yello, live on stage. Finally.”

Dieter Meier: “With the decision to play live for the first time ever at the Kraftwerk Berlin, a new era for Yello begins. Get out of cyberspace and into the live experience.”
