On this day in 1992, Radiohead released their debut single “Creep”

Initially “Creep” didn’t cause any kind of stir when it was released in ’92, but when it was re-released in ’93 it put Radiohead on the map.

Radiohead eventually got so tired of the audiences just wanting to hear “Creep” that they dropped it from their set-list (I was lucky enough to see them perform it live on July 2nd, 1993 in Toronto).

The band was successfully sued for plagiarism for “Creep” by the Hollies due to similarities to their 1973 song “The Air That I Breathe”.
