‘Power, Corruption & Lies’ was released on May 2nd 1983
– it was New Order’s second studio album after 1981’s ‘Movement’
– The cover designed by Peter Saville is a reproduction of the painting “A Basket of Roses” by French artist Henri Fantin-Latour, which is part of the National Gallery’s permanent collection in London.
– this was the album that the band would move them from their Joy Division sound to a more synthesized heavy New Order sound.
