The Smiths ‘Louder Than Bombs’ released on this day in 1987

hi_1987_louder12_1‘Louder Than Bombs’ was a compilation album released by The Smiths on March the 30th 1987 by its American record company, Sire Records. In Feb 1987 Rough Trade Records released ‘The World Won’t Listen’ in the UK, so ‘Louder Than Bombs’ was a counterpart to it.
‘Louder Than Bombs’ included all singles and nearly all B-sides that had not at that point been available in the States, either on single or album.

The cover was designed by Morrissey and features British playwright Shelagh Delaney.
