‘The Idiot’ was Iggy Pop’s debut solo album, and it was released on March the 18th 1977

– The album which was produced by David Bowie was recorded during the same time Bowie was working (with Pop) on his Berlin Trilogy (Low, Heroes, Lodger)

– the album was seen an exodus from his work with The Stooges, it had electronics sounds and wasn’t the hard rock, garage punk sound of the Stooges people were use to.
– Years later David Bowie would cover “China Girl”
on 1983’s Let’s Dance and it became a huge hit.

– Did you know? The song “Nightclubbing” also provided the kick drum sound for Nine Inch Nails’ 1994 hit, “Closer”
