The Velvet Underground’s ‘The Velvet Underground & Nico’ – released March 12, 1967


The Velvet Underground‘s debut album ‘The Velvet Underground & Nico’ was released on March the 12th 1967. The album’s as well known for its Andy Warhol cover art as the music inside, music that centred around such topics as sexual deviancy, prostitution, sadism and masochism and drug abuse. When it was released it was seen as a commercial and critical bomb, but in the past 50 year’s it’s come to be known as one of the most influential and critically acclaimed rock albums in history.
