Daft Punk ‘One More Time’ singer and house producer Romanthony dies

Romanthony, best known for singing on Daft Punk‘s ‘One More Time’, died earlier this Romanthonymonth (May).

The influential house producer and singer, real name Anthony Moore, died at his home in Austin, Texas on May 7. 5 Chicago reports his sister Mellony Moore confirmed his death via Facebook. The cause of death has not yet been confirmed.

Friends and collaborators have taken to Twitter today (May 19) to express their condolences to the producer’s family and to pay their tribute to his talents. Boys Noize tweeted, “it is so sad 😦 Romanthony and me were working on such an amzing song together. he said it was the best song he had ever written,” while Erol Alkan simple wrote: “RIP Romanthony.”

Romanthony began his production career began in New Jersey in the early 90s with the release of his singles ‘Make This Love Right’ and ‘Let Me Show You Love’. He released his debut album ‘Romanworld’ in 1997, following it up with the highly influential ‘Instinctual’ two years later.

The producer and singer went on to collaborate with a number of artists, but he is most recognised for providing the vocals on Daft Punk‘s ‘One More Time’ and ‘Too Long’. Both tracks appeared on the French duo’s seminal album ‘Discovery’.
